About Me

My photo
My name is Anna and I've been living in Marbella on the Costa del Sol for 8 years. A recent convert to camping, ( had no idea how much fun it could be, yes, seriously) and spend most of my Thursdays whining to my husband, pleading for him to take me and the three little darlings for a week-end camping by the white, unspoilt beaches of Tarifa, right on the Atlantic Ocean.

Sunday in Marbella

Sunday in Marbella is usually a quiet one as all the shops are closed, just as they used to be in the UK years ago. It means that Saturday is a full on day trying to buy shoes, clothes, anything that the chidlren need and often before 2pm when some of the shops close for their siesta or close down for the week-end. As we often are not dressed on a Saturday until 12pm this is a problem.
So Sunday we laze around ( for a change...) and often take a walk on the paseo, the promenade in Marbella. We walk down from the house, it takes about 10 minutes and then the view of the sea hits you and charms you all in one sweep. I've been living in Marbella for seven years and the view as you come down the hill of the sea, backed by blue skies and the sunlight shimmering on the surface of the sea never fails to take my breath away and remind me how lucky we are to be living in a walm and safe sunny climate so close to the sea.
A couple of weeks ago some fisherman showed me their catch of a small octopus and we were going to try fishing ourselves today. My daughter had been really keen until she asked what we were going to do with the fish that we caught. She soon caught on that the hook was likely to take half of the face of the fish away and that it was kinder to leave the fishing rod where it was. Gathering dust in the storage room.
So we just enjoyed our walk.....and the view.
